Man, production has changed over the years. I remember when a “crew” consisted of about 50 teamsters who complained about everything. There were lighting trucks everywhere. A caterer that would whip up a plateful of huevos rancheros faster than you could say “huevos rancheros”. Scripts girls. The assistant director. Director of photography and on and on and on and on. Seriously, I never knew what half the crew was there for.
This is a photo of the “crew” we shot with yesterday. I could count the number of the crew on one hand and still have two fingers left. The director was Matt Doane (out front), a heckuva young film maker.
He did a great job. How great? We’ll see in a month or so when the spot hits the air. But, honestly, I walked away from the shoot, feeling as good about a production I have ever felt in 30 years.
It was fun! Everyone chipped in to get the job done. It was a real feeling of teamwork.
Even the cast chipped into move lights and furniture.
I’ve been told how much production has changed over the past couple of years. I saw…lived it…and liked it…alot! But I did miss the lady who came around giving foot rubs.
