Just checked out the JimBob_Dallas fan page on Facebook, and lo and behold, we have fans in over 30 countries in the world, with the largest group (outside the U.S.) coming from, drum roll, GERMANY!
Why?
I know a few folks in Germany, mostly from the Heye Agency in Munich. I used to go there from time to time to work on the McDonald’s business. The three largest markets at the time were the U.S., the UK and Germany. Since the McDonald’s business in the UK was on the Leo Burnett roster, I never worked on it there. I made some great friends at Heye. In fact, it was Heye that created the “I’m Lovin’ It” campaign, McDonald’s first world-wide marketing idea.
Over the 25 years, I have worked in about 20 countries on various projects, from France on Dannon, the UK on American Airlines, Italy on Barilla pasta, most of the most countries had something to do with McDonalds (Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand), Colgate, Xerox, and Pepsi International. Bob also directed a number of spots in Italy and France, for Barilla and Kraft.
What I learned most about working internationally was that people everywhere are about the same. Sure, there are some nuisances, but overall, not much difference.
For now, JimBob_Dallas says ”bienvenidos” to all our 462 Facebook fans (today’s count) from around the world.
