Fergy, are you out there?

HZWKMXUQMURHOLD.20100105213759 I thought it might be funny to start a Twitter account that connected all the Jim Ferguson’s in Twitterland together.

So, I set up the account and asked 345 other Jim Fergusons to follow me, Jim Ferguson.

Why? A better questions is, Why Not?

Only one Jim Ferguson has started following me, Jim Ferguson. Jim Ferguson of Oklahoma City whose daughter Megan (pictured here) is an All-America gymnast at the University of Oklahoma who is also, get this, an advertising major, contacted me via Twitter.  At first, I thought he was a pervert. “What’s your email address?” I ignored him. Then, he said, “This is Jim Ferguson.” I was giddy. I had met another person with my name. It had never happened before. (I have met a lot of Fergusons, but not Jim Ferguson.) We are not related, but I decided to call him Cuz Ferg 1. We had an interesting Twit exchange and when Meagen graduates from OU and does her time as a student assistant, Cuz Ferg 1 said she would get in touch with me about a potential intern job.

Since the correspondence with Cuz Ferg 1. I have heard nothing from the other 344 other Jim Ferguson’s that I have asked to follow me in Twitterville.

For some reason, I thought it would be both entertaining and educational to follow and learn all about other Jim Ferguson’s, their hopes, their hope dreams and their distain for being called, Fergy, Ferg, Ferginand, Fergilicious, etc., all their lives.

But nothing happened.

So I sit by my Text Toy and wait, to hear from Jim Ferguson.

Isn’t Twittering the best???
